Cheesy Bacon Balls
- 200 g (7 oz) fresh cheese (cottage cheese or ricotta)
- 200 g (7 oz) aged cheddar cheese, grated
- 140 g (5 oz) bacon, cooked until crispy
- 50 g (1.8 oz / ½ cup) walnuts, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp (6 g / 0.2 oz) fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp (2 g / 0.07 oz) garlic powder
- 1 tsp (2 g / 0.07 oz) paprika powder
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine grated cheddar cheese, parsley, paprika powder, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix until well combined and smooth.
3. Add the fresh cheese to the bowl and stir until the mixture is uniform in texture.
4. Crumble the crispy bacon into small pieces and fold it into the cheese mixture.
5. Add the garlic powder and chopped walnuts to the bowl, stirring well to incorporate all ingredients.
6. Using your hands, roll the mixture into balls approximately 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter. You should be able to make around 16 balls.
7. Place the balls on a parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch (2.5 cm) of space between each ball.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the exterior is golden and the interior is melted.
9. Allow the balls to rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
10. Serve the Cheesy Bacon Balls warm or at room temperature and enjoy these delectable bites!
