Creamy Broccoli and Cauliflower Gratin with Smoked Ham

Ingredients
- 475ml (2 cups US, 16 fl oz) crème fraiche
- 200g (7 oz US) smoked ham or Canadian bacon
- 240ml (1 cup US, 8 fl oz) heavy cream
- To taste: salt and pepper
- 100g (3.5 oz US) noble cheese, 30% fat content
- 115g (1 cup US grated, 4 oz US) aged cheese, 31% fat content
- 250g (8.8 oz US) broccoli
- 600g (1 lb 5 oz US) cauliflower
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 190°C or 375°F.
2. Cut the broccoli and cauliflower into florets and season them with salt and pepper.
3. In a large skillet sauté the broccoli and cauliflower in a little butter until tender.
4. In a separate pot bring the heavy cream and sour cream to a simmer.
5. Add the grated aged cheese and stir until it's melted.
6. Arrange the cooked broccoli and cauliflower in a baking dish then top with the smoked ham or Canadian bacon.
7. Pour the creamy cheese sauce over the top making sure everything is well coated.
8. Transfer the dish to the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes or until the top is golden brown and the sauce is bubbly.
9. Serve hot and enjoy.
