Creamy Red Cheddar Dip with Red Onion and Dill
This delicious dip has become a staple at my get-togethers. The creamy texture paired with the tangy red cheddar, the bite of red onion, and the freshness of dill creates a perfect balance of flavors. I prefer to keep it simple, letting the ingredients speak for themselves. It's always a hit when served with crisp veggies or crackers, and it's the first dish to disappear. While it's not an elaborate recipe, it's honest, good food that people genuinely enjoy.
Ingredients
  • 200 g / 7.05 oz red cheddar cheese, grated
  • 280 ml / 1.18 cups sour cream
  • 200 g / 7.05 oz potato chips or stars
  • 25 g / 4 tbsp finely chopped red onion
  • 9 g / 3 tbsp chopped fresh dill
  • 6 g / 1 tsp salt
  • 4 g / 2 tsp black pepper
Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine 250 ml (1 cup) of sour cream with 5 ml (1 tsp) of salt and 2.5 ml (½ tsp) of black pepper. Mix until smooth.

2. Finely chop 15 ml (1 tbsp) of fresh dill and 60 ml (¼ cup) of red onion. Add them to the bowl and stir well.

3. Crumble 100 g (3.5 oz) of red cheddar cheese into the mixture and blend until evenly distributed.

4. Serve the dip with your favorite potato chips or chopped vegetables. Enjoy immediately or chill for one hour for a colder taste.

Note: Be careful when chopping the onion and grating the cheese to avoid injury.
