Delightful Beef Lasagna
- 12-16 sheets Lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 medium onions
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 cup beef broth (US) / 250ml beef broth (EU)
- 1 tablespoon dried thyme
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
1. Add olive oil to a large skillet over medium-high heat then add ground beef breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks once browned add diced onions cook until they are translucent then add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute stir in beef broth and thyme bring the mixture to a boil then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes season with salt and pepper to taste in a large bowl combine marinara sauce and the beef mixture spread a thin layer of the beef sauce in the bottom of a baking dish arrange lasagna noodles on top of the sauce spread one-third of the beef sauce over the noodles followed by one-third of mozzarella cheese repeat this process two more times ending with a layer of mozzarella cheese on top sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the mozzarella cheese cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.
