Delightful Smörgåstårta with Smoked Salmon, Shrimp, and Cheese
Ingredients
- 12 oz (340 g) large peeled and deveined shrimp
- 7 oz (200 g) aged cheddar cheese, thinly sliced or cut into decorative shapes
- 5 oz (140 g) cold-smoked salmon, flaked into bite-sized pieces
- 1 cup (240 ml) crème fraîche
- 1 tbsp (6 g) fresh dill, finely chopped
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- 12 slices French bread, each about 1 inch (2.5 cm) thick
- fresh lettuce leaves, for garnish
- additional fresh dill sprigs, for garnish
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
2. Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet and toast for 5 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden and crisp on both sides. Set aside to cool completely
3. In a medium bowl, combine crème fraîche, chopped dill, and sea salt. Mix until smooth and well blended
4. Spread a thin, even layer of the dill crème fraîche over each slice of toasted bread
5. On each slice, layer a piece of smoked salmon, one shrimp, and a slice of cheese
6. Arrange finished toasts on a serving platter, garnish with fresh lettuce leaves and dill sprigs
7. Serve immediately to maintain crispness and freshness
