There's something special about biting into a Dumle treat, the crunch of the sprinkle topping giving way to a soft, chewy center. Whether you're a kid or just a kid at heart, Dumle treats are sure to put a smile on your face.
Ingredients
  • 250g / 8.8oz unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 500g / 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 400g / 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 60g / 2 1/4 oz light syrup
  • 10 pieces of Dumle candy
  • 10g / 2 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 10g / 2 tsp baking powder
  • a pinch of flaky sea salt
Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F or 175°C.

2. In a large mixing bowl, work the butter until it's light and fluffy.

3. Gradually add the granulated sugar and mix until everything is well combined.

4. Next, add the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and vanilla sugar, and mix until a smooth dough forms.

5. Divide the dough into small balls, roughly the size of a small marble.

6. Roll each ball into a log shape and press down gently to help it hold its form.

7. Place these treats on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

8. Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt over them before baking.

9. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until they're lightly golden.

10. Let the treats cool on the baking sheet for a bit before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
