Easy Bacon Pie with Pre Made Crust
There's something special about a warm, cheesy pie straight from the oven. This recipe brings together the unbeatable duo of bacon and cheese in a simple yet satisfying way. With a pre-made crust taking the hassle out of prep, it's the perfect solution for a speedy dinner or lunch that still packs plenty of flavor.
Ingredients
  • 500ml / 1 1/2 cups milk at 37°C / 98°F
  • 6g / 2 tsp dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 250g / 8.8 oz bacon, diced
  • 3 eggs
  • 475g / 2 cups grated cheese (31%), divided
  • 1 package pre-made pie crust (on a roll), approximately 225-250g / 7.9-8.8 oz
Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C or 356°F, making sure it's nice and hot for our pie.

2. Roll out the pre-made pie crust and gently place it into a pie dish, trimming the edges to fit snugly.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together 2-3 eggs, 120ml or 1/2 cup of milk, a pinch of salt, and a few grinds of pepper until well combined.

4. Add 115g or 4oz of diced bacon, 1 teaspoon of dried thyme, and 190g or 1 1/2 cups of grated cheese to the bowl, mixing everything together until the cheese is evenly distributed.

5. Carefully pour the egg mixture into the pie crust, making sure not to spill a drop.

6. Sprinkle the remaining 60g or 1/2 cup of grated cheese over the top of the pie, adding a nice golden brown finish.

7. Bake the pie in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is set.

8. Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving and enjoying!
