Meatballs with Bacon and Rose Pepper Sauce

- 500g / 1.1lb ground beef
- 140g / 5 oz bacon
- 1/2 yellow onion
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup / 120ml milk
- 1/4 cup / 30g rolled oats
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon rose pepper
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F or 190°C.
2. Combine rolled oats, egg, black pepper, baking powder, milk, sugar, and Dijon mustard in a large bowl. Mix until just combined.
3. Add the ground beef, chopped bacon, yellow onion, parsley, salt, and rose pepper to the bowl. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
4. Use your hands to shape the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches or 3.8 cm in diameter.
5. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving about 1 inch or 2.5 cm of space between each meatball.
6. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.
7. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the rose pepper sauce by mixing together 60 ml or 1/4 cup heavy cream, 15 ml or 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, and a pinch of rose pepper in a small bowl.
8. Serve the meatballs hot, with the rose pepper sauce spooned over the top.
9. Serve with delicate potatoes and green beans on the side.
