Seafood Pastry Delight
This pastry is my dinner party hero. It's elegant, delicious, and always gets compliments. The contrast between the crisp crust and smooth filling feels just right. I've served it for birthdays and holidays—it makes any occasion special without stealing your whole evening. Guests never guess how simple it is to pull off.
Ingredients
  • 250 g (8.8 oz) puff pastry
  • 1 large egg
  • 240 ml (1 cup) sour cream
  • 50 g (1/2 cup) grated aged cheddar cheese
  • 10 g (2 tablespoons) fresh dill chopped
  • 10 g (2 tablespoons) fresh chives chopped
  • 2 ripe avocados peeled pitted and halved
  • 70 g (1/2 cup) large shrimp shelled and deveined
  • 15 g (3/4 cup) mixed greens
  • 30 g (1/4 cup) red radish thinly sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 390°F (200°C)

2. Roll puff pastry on baking paper to 1/4 inch (6 mm) thick

3. Score 2-inch (5 cm) border around edge without cutting through

4. Brush border with beaten egg

5. Bake center rack 15 minutes until golden brown

6. Cool pastry completely on wire rack

7. Cook shrimp in skillet over medium heat 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque cool

8. Mix sour cream aged cheddar dill chives salt and pepper

9. Spread cheese mixture within pastry border

10. Arrange mixed greens avocado halves and shrimp on filling

11. Scatter sliced radish over top add whole radish slices for garnish

12. Serve immediately
