Soft and Fluffy Saffron Cake
Ingredients
- Flour, 4 cups
- Eggs, 3
- Sugar, 2 1/2 cups
- Butter, 200g (room temperature)
- Baking powder, 1 1/2 teaspoons
- Milk, 1 cup
- Saffron, 0.5g (1 packet)
- Sugar cube, 1
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl combine the flour and baking powder.
3. In a separate bowl whisk together the eggs sugar and saffron until well combined.
4. Add the room temperature butter to the egg mixture and whisk until smooth.
5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture whisking until just combined.
6. Pour in the milk and whisk until the batter is smooth.
7. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan.
8. Place a sugar cube in the center of the batter.
9. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
10. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
