Spicy Shrimp with Garlic and Chili

- 500g / 1.1lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 120ml / 4fl oz olive oil
- 6g / 1 tsp fresh red chili, finely chopped
- 6g / 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 30g / 1/2 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2g / 1/2 tsp smoked paprika powder
- baguette slices for serving
- salt to taste
1. Peel and devein the shrimp, making sure they're ready for cooking.
2. Heat 2-3 tablespoons (30-45 ml) of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat, which is around 325°F (165°C).
3. Add 1-2 cloves of minced garlic and 1-2 teaspoons of diced chili to the skillet, as well as a pinch of salt and a sprinkle of paprika powder.
4. Saute the mixture for about 30 seconds, making sure to stir frequently to avoid burning the garlic.
5. Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook until they're lightly pink and warmed through - this should take around 2-3 minutes per side, depending on their size.
6. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of chopped parsley to give the dish a fresh flavor.
7. Serve the shrimp mixture immediately with toasted slices of baguette and enjoy.
