Strawberry Meringue Pie with Whipped Cream and Caramel Sauce
Ingredients
- 500 g / 1 lb fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 480 ml / 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- 200 g / 1 cup granulated sugar
- 115 g / 4 large egg whites
- 24 g / 1 cup Rice Krispies cereal
- Caramel sauce ( homemade or store-bought )
Instructions
1. 1. Preheat the oven to 150°C / 300°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. 2. In a large bowl, mix Rice Krispies and sugar. Add egg whites one at a time, stirring well after each addition until fully combined.
3. 3. Spread the mixture evenly on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 1 hour.
4. 4. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
5. 5. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Add a pinch of sugar to taste.
6. 6. Carefully cut the cooled meringue into desired shapes using a sharp knife. Arrange on a serving plate.
7. 7. Top the meringue pieces with whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Drizzle with caramel sauce.
8. 8. Serve immediately and enjoy!
