White Pizza with Mushrooms and Red Onion
- 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups (315 ml) warm water
- 1/4 package (5 g) yeast
- 1/4 cup (60 ml) olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup (120 g) mushrooms, sliced
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) crème fraîche
- 1 sprig thyme, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest, grated
1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt.
3. Gradually add warm water and mix until a dough forms.
4. Knead the dough for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
5. Let it rest for 30 minutes, covered with plastic wrap.
6. Heat a skillet and add olive oil.
7. Sauté the mushrooms and onion until tender, about 5 minutes.
8. Add thyme, garlic, and lemon zest and cook for another minute.
9. Divide the rested dough into 2 equal portions.
10. Shape each portion into a circle, about 12 inches (30 cm) in diameter.
11. Place each dough circle on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
12. Spread crème fraîche over the dough, leaving a 1/2 inch (1 cm) border.
13. Top with the mushroom mixture.
14. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt.
15. Bake for 15 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
16. Remove from the oven and drizzle with olive oil.
17. Serve warm and enjoy!
